Default 12v temperature sending unit

Is there a 12v temperature sending unit that will work on a 51 ford f1 cylinder head or do I need to do a voltage drop?

The volt drop would be used on the gauge and not the sender. If you are running stock gauges just use the stock sender and put the volt drop to the gauges.
