As long as no one has had a failure with the intake gasket, I'll probably use it. I've had good luck, in the past, using "plug valve" grease for a good seal on gaskets like this and also works good for water pump and thermostat housing gaskets. Don't remember where I got the stuff, but its original use was a lubricant/ sealer for valves used on kerosene barrels, petcocks, etc. with tapered male and female mating parts.

Lightly grease carb gaskets.. works a treat been doin' it for years.
