Default Will a Mallory Dual Point Distributor.......

I have a Vido marine tach for a 4 cyclinder engine and was wondering if anyone would know if a dual point distributor would affect its function? Would it mean that you would have to set the tach as if it were for an 8 cyclinder engine?

Obliged!

A dual point distributor just extends the dwell time of the points causing a hotter spark. There are still only four point opening for each 720 degrees of crankshaft rotation. Your 4 cylinder tach will work just fine.
