Default 4 Speed AA transmission in A Pickup

I have seen when looking thru but now cant find an article in the Restorer Magazines on a four speed AA transmission as fitted to some Model A Pickups 1930 models?

anyone know which volume issue? or year issue?

i dont know the issue, but i have AA complete trany that came out of a stock '29 pickup if anyone needs such.

A pal of mine in the 50's had a 4 speed trans in his '30 coupe so it was not original. He bought a 31 CCPU and we swapped transmissions no problem.

Why would you wanna do that? Got some stumps to pull? The granny gear is really low. As I understand it, you need to change the uni and clam shells.

I have a pick-up chassis that came out of the panhandle of Texas (flat country) that was under an 82B pick-up that had a factory-installed AA four-speed transmission. My point is that many may not have been for pulling hills (--or parades ) as much as the ability to "chore" with it (idling along in 1st), and the ability to run a PTO off the side of the transmission to power belted equipment.

I have one in my pickup and know that Ford did put some 4 speeds in pickups at the factory, and am after info. thanks so far.
