I am in Northern California. Willows, CA. About an hour north of Sacramento and an hour south of Redding.

Just out of curiosity, what was the Deutz engine used for in your Avitar?

I was wondering if someone would recognize it. I am planning a Deutz engine/manual transmission swap into a early 70's F250 Pickup. The BF6L913 in its stock form is 160 hp. If I add an intercooler and turn up the fuel a little I think i can get about 200 hp. For comparison, the 12 valve Cummins engines are right at 160 hp stock.

I saw a Deutz in an F250 or F350 in the 70s. I don't know what engine it was but it took up ALL the room from the firewall to the grill (no radiator of course) The owner used it to tow a livestock trailer.

To answer your question better rotorwrench, that is just a picture of a engine like I need. We do run a couple other Deutz's on pumps for our farm. One of them has just over 39,000 hrs., no rebuild as of yet.

The underground mine I worked at used Deutz engines in most of the equipment. inline 4,6 cylinder engines. I think there was even a 3 cyl. As well as V6, V8 and I think a V12. Pretty durable engines. Sorry.....back on topic.
