Default Torque tube lengths

So I am guessing that the 60" torque tube is for the 4 and the longer 62" tube is for the V8? What would be the lengths of driveshafts? Thanks

The drive shaft and torque tubes for '33-'34 V8 cars are longer by 1-1/2" than the 4-cyl counterparts. The 4-cyl engine is longer than the V8. DD

V8 Driveshaft: 60-5/32"
V8 Torque Tube: 61-13/16"

Thank you I thought that's the way it was there must be an abundance of 4 cylinder ones around because I have checked a few and they were the shorter lengths.

Another question for you. If the 4 cylinder is longer and the torque tube is shorter and the transmissions are all the same size? is the location or mounting of the 4 cyl transmission different than the V8?

The four-cylinder transmission case is much longer than the V8 case; it is the gear sets, shift lever housing, and rear transmission mount that are the same.

Both transmission cases mount at the same points on the center cross member, but that rear mount was made in such a way to accommodate both the extra length of the four's engine/transmission assembly and that of the V8. The ears on the steel portion of the mount are installed toward the front on the fours and toward the rear on the V8s. The distance between that flip flop is the same as the difference in the lengths of the two different torque tubes and drive shafts.

The current reproduction rear transmission mount is incorrectly manufactured as the notches in the rubber portion for the bolts with the special offset heads for the torque tube cup are in the right position only for use with a V8 transmission. They are about 20 degrees off for a four and must be altered accordingly.
