Default Need Hershey swap space

Have never been to Hershey swap meet and have been saying since my retirement 5 years ago that I was going to go. This is the year so am starting now to find a room for my wife and I. We would also like to rent a swap space to avoid the long walk from the parking lot (as I am told). Any help or advice is welcome. Paul in Indiana

corndog, the way it works is that, 1st, you must be a member of the A.A.C.A. Once you are a member, Flea market space forms are sent out in July. You can request your old site (logical) and new sites are handed out on an earliest post mark first system. Parking lots run the entire length of the flea market and I have never found them a long way off. The flea market is huge, so no matter where you park, you are going to find your self a long way from your car.

Aren't they also trying to crack down on the guys who buy a spot just to park their car in, and set out some junk on an "honor System" and are never there?

Hershey , also does a good job with " Handicap Parking " I have not looked, but they probably have a detailed map of the swap area, showing all fields, and Handicap Parking areas. Your only problem will be .....that you will be hooked, and NEED to come back every year.....Good Luck !

Handicap parking I think is in the chocolate world parking lot. Join the aaca and get a spot. It's not that hard to get one now. 10 yrs ago it's was. It will take you 2 to 3 days to see it all because not everyone sets up on the same day. There use to be a guy that bragged about being able to do the whole show in one day . Well good for him but you will enjoy it if you can spend the whole.week like us slow pokes.

As for junk and a honor box. Well I have sold stuff that way and found stuff I needed in those junk piles so I have no problem with them.

You can walk the whole thing in a day.... you sure as hell can't see everything in a day. In the morning I was wishing they organized by brand. In the afternoon I was happy with some bargain ford stuff found on other brand guys tables. Bring a silly big brimmed hat. Got a hell of a sunburn last year with just a ball cap on. No offense to the smart people in those big brimmed hats.

The stuff you see, the variety of parts - if you are looking for or the "needle in a haystack", you will find it there. Wear your walking shoes, bring a cart of some kind for the treasures you will find, and enjoy the experience. There are few swap meets left like this one .....

I let people leave stuff at my spot all the time and always have a couple of chairs for them to rest there feet. I tell them to take a picture of my space # so they can find me later.

AACA, Hershey Region
Flea Market
PO Box 305
Hershey PA 17033

I would call them ASAP, as you can join over the phone, and request the flea market vendor space package to be sent to you along with organization magazine which is excellent. The flea market deadline for vendor space is 8/15/16.

The magazine alone is worth the cost of membership. I like the fact that you have to be a member to get a legit spot because it helps support the event. General admission is free unlike places like Carlisle were everything is $$$.
Please join the club and support the events they put on all over the USA.
Hershey is the best show period

I find it a little frustrating to see empty spots or those taken up with a parked car. If you have problems walking the day or days get a handi cap scooter, available there to rent. If your looking for a room I cancelled my reservation at the Econo Inn, Lucy RD I think the address is, phone # is 844 227 2387, friend Im going with has a time share so he wants to use it, not liking the idea as its an hour drive. I cancelled room about a month ago so might be gone already, kind of expensive, jacked up rate

The biggest stumbling block is applying for the Pennsylvania Tax permit - you sell they take - they wanted a permit for a car club information stand. This may have changed I inquired about a spot a few years ago.

There is no advantage in parking your car in a spot to shop. My spaces are amile fromthe end of the swap meet. Closer to park in pblic parking. Handicap parking is the way to go but you need to be a member i think.

Nope, you still need a tax permit number to get a spot .....
Carlisle is the same I think. Present vendors at either may not have to though - only folks applying for new doors ...
