If you have your engine (splash) pans installed as factory, there isn't a need for a filter.

You will only have to resize the jets in your carburetor if the air filter you install is not adequately sized to provide the air flow for the size of your engine. See the below website.

I run no filter at all.

It's as simple as this. You spend time and effort to find the proper filter capacity, but in the end you install the worst of filters. Let alone that some prefer no filter at all

The "worst of the filters", 3.5 inch, provides 12% more filter area than required by the calculations. The 5.5 inch filter provides 194% of the required filter area and the 6.25 inch filter provides 225% of the calculated filter area.

Also keep in mind that these calculations are based on an engine running at 2800 RPM

K and N are a performance reusable filter. A paper filter works better in dusty conditions.
If you don't have dust and bugs you won't need to keep them out.
