Default Something is different

I suspect it is just me, but I'm perceiving the threads are not displaying as they used to be.
I must not be understanding the CP options. I would like to view the threads in a format that when I leave the page ( always being signed in ) and come back from , say another site, that the threads in bold type will only be those that have had additions to them since I was last on the page. All other threads, read or not from a prior visit, that I read and not read will be in light text.

Am I making myself clear????? How do I set the options in this manner.

If I leave and just come back they are still bold but if you refresh the ones
that you have looked at will not be in bold.

Things have changed it seems with the new server. When you are done browsing the site go to the top and click on Quick Links. Click on Mark Forums Read and then click on the forum you are going to close. Next time only new posts will be highlighted when you open it. An extra couple of steps but it seems to work.

That's the way it USED to work as the default. Now the forum requires the extra steps.

Thanks for the tip, I was wondering about that myself.

I liked it the old way. I wonder why the forum behavior changed just from going to a new server, unless they changed some global parameters on how the forum operates.

Is it a coincidence the forum now runs just like Mitch`s forums?

Not for me. So far the only change I see is that I have to sign in every time I come here.

I use Chrome for a search engine and like before, it takes me to Ford Barn site by just clicking on "Ford Barn" in my favorites box. Except, my "didn't read yet" threads are still being highlighted, and now I know how to get that back. Thank you for this great Ford website.

I used to go through Safari to Fordbarn but now have to go through Chrome and the previously read threads are still in bold type. I hate changes !

I use Safari and I alway had that problem. Sometimes the thread I read was bold when I came back and sometime it was not. I just got used to scrolling down the list each time I come back. I also look at the name of the last poster and the date.

I think in my case it is just a Safari quirk. I think you have to refresh Safari to make it work properly. There are not too many new posts on Ford Barn so it's not a big problem for me.
