Here's another pic or 2 just to add to the discussion.

The tail on the red one started life as a '41 Ford Hood. The blue one is a re-purposed '40 Buick hood.

see if these pictures make a little sense to someone. logan I think the year you drove it in the Hillclimb in Ft Worth it was of the silver color and design.. Since then Elizabeth and I cut the rear off and redesigned it to lower the tail and give it more sloped look and painted it blu.

The "boattail" is made from a (choke) Chevy hood and the sides were flat sheetmetal. See picture. Hood was too wide so a (I think I remember right) strip was cut out of the center to narrow it - taper strip 6"

to 0" at the narrow end.

btw guys she is now for sale. The speedster - not the girl.

As Paul Harvey would say, "Now for the rest of the story". Yes, the gas tank is made rom an old Famrall tractor gas tank. Cut in half to give a 10 gal tank.

The last pix is what she looks like now. Logan, you are welcome to come look and take as many pictures as you like.

another note: the framework is made from 1 x 1 square tubing, 'cause that is what I had a lot of at the time. round tubing would be better.

My boat tailed body is built of wood the same way as the other one on this thread, but I opted to paint it rather than show the wood

I've seen aluminum rowboats as cheap as $75. That way you'd have a real boat tail speedster.

Do you guys realize this thread is over (4) years old. You might have better results getting pictures by sending a PM them.

Not sure a PM would work either as David passed away a couple of months ago.
