Re: Henry Ford
I watched it Saturday afternoon. Very informative, and almost 2 hours worth.

Re: Henry Ford
This is a brand new book written by Henry Dominguez. It sounds like a good read, so I have just ordered one for my Library. |

Re: Henry Ford
I didn't know Bennett had written a book, I bet someone ghost wrote it for him. I'll have to find it. I've always considered him an evil man if there ever was one.

Re: Henry Ford
Found these 2 pictures of the book, "We never called him Henry" by Harry Bennett, as told by Paul Marcus. So it appears that Harry didn't actually write the book. |

Re: Henry Ford
Brendan - yup, that's Bennett. He used to call Edsal "the weakling". Henry II fired him as soon as he could. The fireing literaly involved pistols being pointed at people.

Re: Henry Ford
Yes. Bennett was hired by Ford to keep his employees in line and prevent unionism. Bennett's power increased to the point of actually being the defacto head of the company, issuing orders, hiring and firing with no limits on his power. Henry ll was the first and only man to stand up to Bennett and survive. Bennett was exiled to poverty when Ford ll faced him down.

Re: Henry Ford
Flahheadfan is correct, Henry Ford's last ride was indeed in a Packard. These pictures show the car outside the church. |

Re: Henry Ford
There is a good piece on Ford in the documentary "The Men Who Built America" it came on history channel but it's on Netflix now. Very good series. I love any show dealing with history.

Re: Henry Ford
For some interesting reading, do a search of "Harry Bennet". He was a thug. His home was a fortress.

I'll never understand why some people will post on a thread without bothering to read the previous postings.
