Default Wrong belt? Starting over...

I'd like to start my thread over again now that I have my facts straight... I have a 42 engine that for some reason was set up with a 46 type distributor and fan. This leaves me with a crankcase pulley, water pumps, and distributor pulley... All with narrow grooves for belts that are about 5/8th inch wide. The fan pulley is designed for a 7/8th inch wide belt.

My first option would be to replace the crankshaft pulley, distributor, and coil with 40 components. And then move the fan back to the crankshaft. In lieu of that, I'm wondering if I can limit it to replacing the crankshaft pulley and moving the fan without replacing the rest? Will the fan clear the 46 distributor? I seem to recall somewhere reading that this might be a problem.

Sorry for the confusion. I didn't notice the difference in the pulleys right away.
