Default 1966 mustang clutch pedal

I'm working on a 1966 Mustang. My car is missing those clutch return spring insulators. Just wondering if anybody has a trick to remove the clutch return spring, without removing the pedal assembly from the car ?

Unhook the clutch rod from the pedal, Remove the three bolts holding the stop and pull the pedal forward to let the spring loose.
