Skidmarks,

From the information I have, can find nothing about Schramm making water pumps. They did make pneumatic sump pumps.

Question Re: Schramm air compressor

Can someone tell by this pic if this 4cyl motor is a Ford or I.H.? It's in a 1962 Schramm Tractor.

laloland,

Cant see enough to even tell you what size compressor you have. Send me the serial number off the block, I can tell you what you have then. Most likely it is a schramm engine, as most of the pneumatractors used their own engine.

Are you sure its a 4 cylinder? Looks like it would be a 105 or 125 cfm compressor, which should be a 6 cylinder.

I have one of these I'd like to get more information on.... I believe this to be a later model Fordair 60 Crawler? Anyone provide any further information. Value? Rarity?

I am doubtful I will have the time to do a restoration on this, though I'd LOVE to. At the same time, I can no longer see it sit. I'd much rather it find a home where it can be restored. This one has a dozer blade attached. Have not seen one with this "option".

Thanks!

Bill

I'd love to find a new home for it. It looks to be in good overall condition. I'm having a hard time placing a monetary value (aka pricetag) on it. Rarity=Money ..... but how much? Any ideas?

It's like pulling Hen's teeth with you ? KiwinUS asked where you are located, Yes you did say Calfornia but a city would be much nicer if he wants to make a offer he has to consider the freight to get it to his location >Charlotte NC < see how easy that was it was in his Profile.
AS far as being rare & worth a lot of $$$$$$$ remember there are a lot less people that may want some thing like that so if you realy want to get it into the hands of someone that can & would rebuild it you have to put a reasonable price on it.

There are people on here that can & will tell you a reasonable price / But it may be a lot less then what you were hopping for.

I am located at zip code 95004. As for reasonable price, I have not stipulated a price or price range. I am, at this stage, inquiring as to what the general concensus feels is a reasonable price for this item. Please, don't presume I have my hopes set on a unreasonable price. Through some correspondence with reliable sources, I have gained a great deal of knowlege and an idea of value but more information & knowlege on this unit is welcomed. As of last night, I have a local individual who has expressed great interest in the restoration of this item so a value, less shipping costs, would aid me in a better discussion with this local individual.

Thanks!

Hi All,
I recently inherited a Schramm air compressor. Our father was going to fully refurbish this machine before he unexpectedly passed. We intend on selling it, but want to find the right home for it. We don't just want it to end up at someone's garage, getting used to it's death. I know very little about the compressor. I just bought a new battery and when I turn the key, the engine turns freely and air builds up immediately. I don't even know if it takes unleaded or diesel. It's been sitting for about 5 years. (Dad broke his hip and wasn't able to move around much the last few years).
Thanks in advance to all the information. I'm new to this forum and will do my best to provide the requested info and to reply. This thread gave me a lot of wonderful info.

I don't know what motor that was converted from, (not a ford V8 obviously) but as it has a distributor and spark plugs it must be a gasolene engine rather than a diesel.

Sorry about your Dad.

Mart.

Its a schramm engine. Looks like a 105 runs on 3 amd pumps on 3. open the discharge valve on the air tank before trying to start it. We had a few of them. they love gasoline.
