Why do you like your car.

I don't mean, because "Your dad had one", or "My grand kids bought it for me". I mean the pure styling aspect of your car. What styling cue drew you to the specific body style you own.
Like: you really like the landau bars on a Sport coupe, or the low profile top of a Deluxe Phaeton turns your proverbial crank.
I will go first. I saw my current car in the book, The Ford Model A as Henry Built It. It is a factory photo of the Two Window Sedan. I loved the proportions, the elegant look, and the overall aesthetics of it. In my minds eye, I could see the black and white picture in Chicle and Copra Drab. I wanted one, found it, own it.

I too have a '30 Blindback though it is a DeLuxe but is not as good looking as your Greg.
The reason I bought mine was for the body style AND the available space for trips. It truly is "Blind" when moving to the right. Took me 2 1/2 years to find it and have had it for close to 20 years.

I like my car because it gives me something to do on my retirements days.
So far, I have been working on it for 3 years so far and I have probably 3 more years until it is safe for the roads.

I love the style of my '30 68B cabriolet I bought in 1968 and hope to have it on the road in a couple years. In the mean time I also love my '28 roadster pickup I pieced together the same year as a temporary driver till i got the cabbie done, didn't figure it would be over 45 years later! In the mean time I've put 84,000 miles on the pickup and have a scrapbook of over 50 pages of pictures of stuff I hauled in the pickup!

I had a 1930 Coupe in 1964, and loved it then. When I decided to get another A, about 13 years ago, I thought I wanted a snazzy Roadster. But, a good friend had one, and insisted I try driving his. I did, and quickly realized it wasn’t very roomy, and it is short on room for carrying things or passengers. He also told me his wife quickly tired of riding in a mostly open car on trips. So, I shifted my focus to a Sedan, and decided I really wanted a 1930 Town Sedan....I liked the idea of 4 doors, and the upgraded features of that model. I also wanted to find one recently and correctly restored, which I did. I have never regretted my decision and still feel it was the best one for me.

I rode in my dads 30 coupe as a child,he gave it to me I sold it when I was 12 cause I could not get it to run.As I got older wanted another. Dad bought the one I have and gave it to me for Christmas in 1964----I'm finishing the brakes on my third go around. My grandsons, 11, 10, will get it when they are old enough to drive.

I fell in love with the sweeping fenders, radiator and bullet lights the first time I set eyes on one. It really is a piece of art on wheels, no it is not exotic, it is an art form that the average guy can relate to.
I could go on at great length but the design and utility of it takes us back to a more simple time.
I think a time that we all harken for. I quite often catch myself just standing taking in the flow from front to back.

Styling? Well it's not a bad looking car but, i bought it because the brakes don't have any fluid to leak or pistons to seize. And no fuel injection or transistors to mess with.

A neighbor owned a Model A Coupe and I liked it from the very start. I love starting out from a stop sign and hearing the transmission. Today, it is the only car I get to drive where I can see my reflection in the back of the headlights! That will always put a smile on my face. Ed

Model As have personality!! The styling is exquisite, they drive like a modern car and they are a major element in the transition from the Model T to the V8 and more modern cars. Consider the fact that they were only made for four years, yet are a major element of the antique car community. Henry Ford made economy cars out of high quality materials. They have lasted a long time! Model As are here in quantity. Where are the Chevys and Plymouths? I bought my first Model A when I was sixteen in 1957. I've been a fan ever since.

Although I have always liked the style of the Coupe, the primary reasons for buying the car in 1960 were local availability and price; $150. Have never regretted.

I think roadsters, like my '29, are about the closest you can come to a Model A sports car. Except for speedsters, but they're something else.

I always admired them since I was a kid. especially the Claxton horn. when I was a school boy the "big boys" drove them and made me very envious. they were at that time, the discarded family car and affordable on a kids wages. I was 29 when I purchased my first. I wish I had have left it there and joined the Model A club for guidance. However the vehicle turned out well and it now has 2 stable mates.
I also like the fact spares are available. I don't have to chase all over the country to find them. Quality parts from a reliable supplier. Snyders.

my first A. When I arrived home. My wife pointed out to me, rightly so, we had no money so why would I purchase a pile of old tin.
Two of my cars are the icon I use on the LHS of this communication. if you look behind Woofa and the maroon ute you will see the tourer (Phaeton). mostly obscured.

Always wanted a model a coupe since I was a kid when I use to play with hot wheels cars. Later I use to read about them in hotrod and rod & custom magazine. I ended up buying one about 10 or 12 years ago and slowly over time turned it into what I played with as a kid and later read about growing up into my teen years. Only requirements were that it had to be red and had to keep up with traffic.
