Hi guys say who has the best book on details on 1932 fords ? Need to know correct firewall holes , clips and cups that hol insulator in etc ? Correct detroit carb , etc etc

The real template for what you are doing is another car to copy. The book is not going to have the spacing of holes on the firewall and details that need to be seen and compared. The books are great, don't get me wrong, but a first hand account is still the best.

The book helps you know if the car you are looking at is correct. I would hate to see someone throw away a beep horn because they thought the car should have an ahooga because the one he was looking at did.

I agree with Charlie. One thing I have learned is there was a huge amount of variety in the 32 model year. The changes early s late are big. I feel sorry for my Uncle who was doing this in the 60's with no reference manuals

Glad I'm not a detailed guy. Probably would stay awake at night worried about the position of a cotter pin. I give you AACA restorers a lot of credit for patience and perseverance.

As for me, I am trying to not get too crazy about it, but I do like to know if what I have is original or not. I would say for me it is curiosity more than rigidness. If I can make it right for about the same cost and effort, why not. So far I have not had to make a serious cost decision on correct vs just fixing it. If god forbid the motor blew I would definately be slapping a not original flathead v8 in it if I couldn't find a cheap B motor.
