Unbelievable!!!! I love the way they flip it completely over. The guy near the roof almost gets it!

How could it possibly do this? Is it a 4 wheel drive?...it has to have a limited slip rear end at least. I do not think you could duplicate that with any vehicle available today. Amazing!....Matt in Alameda

Tall narrow tires/wheels...they hit the bottom and grab, pretty sure Dodge didn't have L/S posi back then.
Gotta admit, a heck of a driver too! |

It's a 4 cylinder Dodge,Pershing used them in Mexico in 1916.They had a lot of torque ,and according to the old timers, would climb a wall.As an old Calvary Trooper(no,we didn't have horses )I appreciate the clearance (no high centering ),light weight, and chains. That guy knew how to read the road!

Seeing that car flipped over reminds me of a time when I was a kid going to school one day. We were walking up a little hill when a guy came rolling down and turned wrong and tipped his old car over. It looked something like the one in the video.
A whole bunch of us kids and the driver and another guy I think (maybe more) started rocking the car back and forth until it finally flipped back onto it's wheels. The guy drove it away. I don't remember much damage to the car, although there must have been some.

Tall skinny wheels and keep 'em spinning.

I would bet that the rear axle spider gears had been welded, making both axles into one unit.. A very common application on vehicles that were used on rural un-improved roads.

Like I commented the last time on this thread, Looks like western Kansas chalk roads in the springtime. The thinner and taller the wheels the better they go in mud, you gotta get er down to the hard pan.

And people today are afraid to leave their stockers out in the rain because they might melt. Very cool video.

Good theory, however, speaking from a Midwestern perspective, rural areas didn't get electricity until the late 40s. I don't think most people would have had the skill to successfully forge weld spider gears.
