Default differential questions

when adjusting both the carrier and pinion preload according to Les Andrews, do you put the carrier assy together dry? or do you lube it? same with the pinion bearing.
thanks

I don't put it in dry. Les' method is just one of many good ways, but the bottom line is you just need a little preload to compensate for when the bearing wears after a bit of use. Common sense should prevail in this.

Use a little engine oil. Also don't tighten the side housings without gaskets, the housings will bend, then leak!
