Default Bumper clamp color

What color blue paint and where do you get it for the bumper clamps? Do you just mask off and paint?

Redbird , I went to Hobby Lobby , in the model car ect. section , and found a small bottle of Ford blue that worked fine for mine , and just used a small artist brush to apply .

I bought some from Bratton's about 20 years ago and it worked well with a small brush. 6 months later I wanted to use some more, but found it was all dried up. Once you open the bottle it's best to use it up or give it away.

What is your method of prepping the surface before you paint ? Some are chrome, some stainless and some other metals.

Chrome and SS seem to hold the paint OK. If sometime in the future, the paint starts coming off, use some lacquer thinner or paint remover, remove the old paint and paint it again. However, I doubt the paint will come off the clamp.

I used rust oleum royal blue brush in style. I took a scotch bright and scuffed the inside first then took a paint brush and put a lot of paint in it. I did not pull the paint with the brush but pushed it to the edges. A good amount of paint needs to be added so after you push it around it will flow back together get rid of the brush strokes. Let it dry for about a week or else the paint will flow down when mounted

its called Harding Bumper Clamp Blue, I use a brush and don't worry about some paint getting outside, I take a rag and wrap it around my finger and then dip it in paint thinner and simply wipe off the excess, put it on thick so the paint will fill In any pits or scratches and flow out smooth

FYI originally there was a mask with holes cut out tin the shape of the inside. Then they were sprayed.
