I have a '40 Ford Tudor Sedan Deluxe, VIN: 18-5694939. How can I find out when and where this 'special' Ford was built? If anyone know, thanks.

That's not really a vin number but what Ford called a serial number. It is stamped in three places along the top left side of the frame and on the area above the inspection plate on the transmission bell. All it will tell you is the "when" month and year of manufacture. Won't tell you the "where".
