Default Running board molding question

To replace the zinc running board molding- is that a snap fit or does the molding slide on from one end?
We just got down to South Carolina for the Winter last Sat. I unloaded "Martha" from the trailer & decided to go see a local Model A'er. I signaled my right turn (no elec. turn signals) and some kid on a motorcycle tried to pass me on the right. He wedged his bike under the running board. Small dent in rr fender and it boogered up the rf fender a little where the molding was pushed forward. I have one estimate for the labor & painting + the invoice from Snyder's for the zinc molding.
Anyway, I was just curious about how to install the molding. I'm sure the bodyman will figure it out.

Snap on; i.e., repro's need to be crimped to running board bottom edge.
