Default Strange Sparkplug ????

This plug has been knocking around in my display case for years. If I knew its story when I bought it, I SURE CAN'T REMEMBER NOW!!!

The base is identical with a H-10 and it has the same thread size and dimensions. Its constructation would indicate mid 30's or later but the Ford Script seems almost "T" era.

Any ideas????

Don

The T plugs used pipe thread, and the As were much bigger threads?...

Not a Champion plug, the base is slightly different beside the top. Just a guess maybe foreign Mfg. France, Germany...? Maybe even made by Ford overseas??

Hi Don,

You might check with Pat MacFarlane in Rochester, NY. He has quite a collection of old spark plugs. He is listed in the EFV8 Roster.

A little OT, and pardon the thread-jacking, but can somebody explain why, with 100 years of US resistance to the metric system, that spark plugs adopted metric threads as the standard so early on?

Probably because of Albert Champion...note his last name, THEN note his initials!

The story I heard was that Mr. Champion sold his manufacturing company and then opened a new business, AC spark plug co.
