Default Oil pump question

I want to install an oil pump in my 59 series flathead engine and need a new oil pump screen. The only screen that I can find is flat on its edge. My oil pump is not flat inside the screen cover. It has a flange with two bolts inside. The vendors sell the same screen that I have and also sell screen covers with the flat spot inside just like mine.
Does anyone now who sells the correct oil pump screen? Thank you for any and all answers.

Do you intend to use the 8 B A pump with the helical gears ? I think the last one I bought for that swap was from Speedway , installing the 8 B A pump with helical gears is a good upgrade, the pickup tube, pump and screen to use the late style pump should be available from several different suppliers .

Here's pics of two different style pumps. The first&second are a pump from a 1940 engine. The next ones are a pump in a 59ab engine I started taking apart on Sunday. The screen was laying in the bottom of the muck and I don't know if it's correct. Hope one of them is what you have and helps narrow down what you need.

Gary
Thank you very much for responding to my question I have pictures of my oil pump but am not very good with computers and can't post them. I emailed them to friend who will hopefully be able to post them for me. The pump that I have is like the middle picture that you posted. Notice the lower side of the screen cover has a place for
two bolts. The boss that the bolts go into is inside the screen cover making it impossible to install the flat screens that are available from the usual sellers. Hopefully
there is someone that is selling screens for that pump. Jay

Your 4 pictures have 3 on the top row and 1 on below those. When I put my courser on your middle top picture , Id 420376 pops up. That's the one that looks like mine. The screen holder is bolted on to the pump housing with bolts. If it has a screen mounted to it,most likely that would be the screen that I need. I hate to ask you to handle dirty parts, but when you do get back your shop, would you please remove the screen and post a picture of it. Most likely It will not be flat where it makes contact inside the screen cover.

Here's a link to Mac Van Pelts site. If what you need I would describe as the cup not the screen, part #6615 you should contact Michael Driscoll at 3rd Generation as I think he has those N.O.S. http://vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/FH_im...mp1938to42.jpg

Gary
Thanks for the link to Mac Van Pelt I may have to call him.
I do not need the screen cover #6615. I need the screen # 6623. Unfortunately the illustration does not have a view of the end of the screen 6623 where it makes contact inside the screen cover 6615.

Here's both screens on the flange end. Gotta love the OLD engine oil! The goopy screen has holes and is falling apart otherwise it would be headed your way. Good luck finding what you need.

Gary. Thank you very much for taking the time to explain this oil screen problem and opening yours up so we could see them. I believe that my obviously reproduction screen is the problem. It is not deep enough (1 9/16" deep ) . The inside rim of the rim is 3 3/4 " and sits on top of the bolts that fasten the screen cover to the body of the oil pump.
If you or someone else have contact information for Michael Driscoll at 3rd Generation ,please let me know. Who knows he may have the correct screen when I talk to him. Jay
