Default Helmet distro gaskets

Hi Gents

Aside from moisture can a helmet run without gaskets? Or will the distro (inner cap) be too close to rotor?

A helmet could run w/o gaskets, but why would you want to??
The inner caps do not have a gasket where they locate in housing that would affect contact spacing. The gasket that locates between inner and outer caps also seals inner caps at housing.

I ran our 33 for 30 miles in the worst rain ever last week ,it never missed a beat, I bet it would have with no gaskets in the distributor.
When we first had the 33 it had a remote coil setup, and no gaskets, you only had to wash the tail light and it would,t start.

That is the way my 40 does wash any part and moisture gets in cap.Winter time cool air from fan causes the cap to condense up so i carry a spare cap in glove box.Gasket or not.I do have a Mallory electronic dist in my 59a.When i wash the car i take the cap off for a day or so.Keep WD40 in it also
