Default International Model A Ford Day

Happy International Model A Ford Day!!

We went for short drive along the coast of Southern California. You can see some of the smoke from California's wild fires in the background.

Hi Guys,
A friend and I did our bit for the ‘International Model A Ford Day’ drive in Mossel Bay on the south coast of South Africa.

The RockFord A's did a picnic in the Pecatonica, Illinois village park today. Sunny and low 60's. We ate outside on lawn chairs at a distance from each other. After lunch we did a few car games, like seeing who could stop the closest to a large flat washer on the park road with a plumb bob hanging from the front bumper. About a dozen Model A's showed up. Sorry I didn't think to bring our camera.

In honor of Model A Day, I went for a nice drive this evening in my Tudor. Earlier I checked the valve clearance and Installed a Model B carb on my 30 Huckster. Will road test it tomorrow. Also painted my new 6:1 Snyder head so I can install it and assembled a Zenith 2 carb I was rebuilding.

The Cape Cod Chapter decided to honor the occasion to tour four interesting locations here in the central area of the Cape. We visited historic sites in South Yarmouth; do a photo op at the very first traffic circle (rotary) known in the USA. We then travelled to the beautiful Barnstable Harbor and a tour of the historic Coast Guard Museum. The tour ended with a picnic lunch at Gray's Beach facility at Yarmouthport on the north side. Seven members and their model "A" Fords enjoyed a beautiful day. The well designed jacket patch that signified the day, worldwide, was given to each participant. We are already planning this event next year.

The George Washington Chapter took a short tour that consisted of eight Model A's. We toured some scenic and historic areas of Montgomery County, MD. The weather could not have been better. Our two hour tour took four hours for a variety of reasons, but no one seemed to mind very much.

Haha, Works for me!

Yes, The OC Pancake Breakfast was dearly missed. I just re-watched the youtube video the other day to reminisce.

Good to see some of us were able to participate in International Model A Ford Day.

I wrestled with fitting repro front quarter panels on my RPU. Not as much fun as a picnic.

The Worcester County Model A Club ran a tour to the Quabbin Reservoir and the Hardwick Winery. 16 A's, 1 "modern" '49 Ford and more than 30 participants. We enjoyed a socially distanced picnic at the Quabbin and adult beverages (and more food) at the winery. Gorgeous weather, wonderful day.

Default International Model A Ford Day

The Blue Ridge Model A club (located in southwest Virginia) did a drive by parade at an assisted living facility to visit a long time club member on the 20th. We had 11 Model A’s, 1 motorcycle, and 1 modern car. It was great to see the cars and folks again, even if the folks were wearing masks.

The Sullivan Trails Model A club from NYS, took a 70 mile tour to Cowanesque Lake in Pennsylvania, had a picnic (socially distanced) followed by Ice Cream. It was a great day to drive the cars and all had fun. We are looking at scheduling a final tour to see the fall colors maybe Oct 10 or 17.

Mid Island Model A Club From Wanganui NZ celebrated International Model A Day yesterday. We traveled from Wanganui to Marton on back roads, 30% of them unsealed, ( roads A's were made for) for lunch at the Club Hotel. Here we met up with Model A's from the Manawatu. After lunch visited Marton Historical Museum and a private bottle colection.
Attending were:- 1 1930 Coupe, 2 1930 Roadsters, 2 1930 Phaetons, 2 1930 Tudors, 1 1930 Tudor Delivery, 1 1929 Tudor, 1 1929 Roadster Pickup, 2 1928 Roadster Pickups, 1 1929 Fordor Sedan, 1 1928 Phaeton, 1 1930 Fordor Sedan, 1 1928 Blind Back Fordor Sedan and 2 1930 cut down sedan pickup trucks. 18 cars in all.
Had a rough trip home ran into a storm, pissing down with rain, and my wiper arm broke. Followed the white line most of the way home. A great day Roadster ran well.
Happy Motoring Dave.
