Default 535 flasher

Teach me something.... is there a difference with a 535 flasher as far as grounds? I see on the Internet that there’s a negative ground and a positive ground flasher. I’m confused. I didn’t think it matters it’s a switch, there’s no grounds in a flasher.

The electronic flashers have polarized circuitry which requires an additional ground connection - different battery polarity requires a different circuit arrangement. 535 thermal flashers use only a simple heating element, which will work with either polarity.
