There's not much to it.
Clamp the housing up to the block, bump it around so you are somewhere in the ballpark with the pilot bore and crank flange lined up.
Dial it in, cinch it down and drill the appropriate holes. Put some bolts in and check your dial-in again. No more than .003 TIR should work fine.
Now, drill and taper ream 2 holes near where the original dowel pins were for 1/4 inch taper pins. Pick a spot to put these where you can drill all the way through the block flange. This will make it easy to remove the pins for dissassembly. On final assembly make sure the taper pins are seated all the way down. This is your repeatability to your original dial-in.
VERY IMPORTANT.
Use Chev clutch fork etc etc.

No, I'm far from an expert on these things. I just dabbled with them a lot a long time ago. Even my write-ups have errors in them...one of these days, I'll fix 'em. However, between the community, there are several folks who bring some very good areas of expertise and vast experience - far more than I. Thankfully, you can usually get a good answer to T5 questions these days.

Except for Ol' Ron's very reasonable question - why doesn't someone make an affordable adapter to put the Ford T5 behind the flatty?

Along with looking for an adaptor for the Ford t5 ( a friend made one up for me), try finding an angle drive for the speedometer cable coming out of the Ford transmission. Can't even finf a GM speedometer gear housing for mocking something up. Marvin,ct
