Default Pitted 8BA Block

My 8BA block has pits in the surfaces between the inlet and outlet holes of the water pumps. Should they be filled and leveled out before new pumps are installed, or should they be ignored?

Thanks in advance, ...jack

I would fill them with JB Weld and sand them smooth and level just to be on the safe side.
You won't harm anything by doing this.

This sounds like a good plan.

I would use a corrosion inhibiter.
