My 31 coupe has always dripped a little, just noticed last couple weeks no drips after oil change, filler cap has been pushed down to far is only thing i can think of any other opinions.
Thanks Dana |

Re: oil drip
Bit of a stab in the dark but did you change the oil grade by any chance?

Re: oil drip
Hi Dana,
One concern may be: Roughly, how many quarts of new oil were added after draining old oil? |

Re: oil drip
If mine doesn't leak I check the oil.

Re: oil drip
Ok yes they mark their spots:-) but YES the fill cap needs to breath or they can build up pressure and leak!

Re: oil drip
It's out of oil!!!
Old Harleys, Aircooled VW's, and Old Fords only stop dripping when they have no oil in them.

Re: oil drip
Like an old man told me one time many years ago while he watched me pour a quart in my '51........."It's a Ford. If it ain't leaking or smoking, it's empty".

Re: oil drip
My car went from a steady leaker to hardly any when I changed them amount I add after an oil change from 4 1\2 quarts to 4 quarts.
I keep the oil around halfway between the two lines. Marc |

I agree. This seemed to help the leak in my car. It will now weep a little occasionally a drop or two but hardly any real leak at all. I just watch to be sure the level does not drop below the "L" mark. I am very pleased. Chris W. |
