Re: Propylene Glycol
Is RV P-G antifreeze the same thing or are there other additives for use in cooling systems? I've purchased that at K-mart.

Re: Propylene Glycol
Just use ethylene glycol and avoid the headaches!

Re: Propylene Glycol
I couldn't use ethylene, it kept foaming in my radiator. I posted that problem here and someone directed my to use propylene and I haven't had a problem since

Re: Propylene Glycol
I think these are 6 packs, so it is around $23/gallon. But it is expensive.

I don't think propylene glycol will change a foaming situation. Sounds like it may either have a minor head gasket 'gas' leak in the compression/power stroke or somehow entraining a lot of air above the coolant while its pumping. Jack E/NJ |

Again, a minimum on-line order of 6 gallons.

Re: Propylene Glycol
Propylene Glycol is installed FULL strength... no cutting it with water. Here is a product called Engine Ice... which is formulated with Propylene Glycol. Motorcycles and ATVs use it more than cars, as it's quite expensive.
The price is $23.45 for a half gallon. Expensive, indeed. It can be found a little cheaper, but it's still not exactly cost friendly to put in a flathead! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000H01NFY..._t1_B000BRGAJ2

Re: Propylene Glycol
From the link I posted...
Ready to Use Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant is pre-mixed with de-ionized water. Most of the Propylene Glycol products I've seen come pre-diluted... like 50/50 antifreeze. Be sure to read the fine print on whatever product you are looking to purchase. Good Luck
