Default Help needed, Backrest Phaeton 1930

Hi all
I'm re-upholstering my Phaeton. I didn't find any instructions for dismantling the backrests.

Can someone explain to me how to dismantle the backrest?

best regards from Switzerland
Eric

I'm not at all familiar with your car, but once you get the seat out I would think you should be able to see any bolts/clamps/springs that are hold the backrest on.
If your seat is anything like mine it should just lift out with a little prodding.

The front backrest is secured (at least on the 1929) with two bolts that are accessed where your feet would kick the front seat if you were sitting in the back seat. These bolts each hold a bracket in place. If you remove the bolts (on my car they were rusted out and I had to file them down to remove them) you can then grab the the bottom of the backrest and lift forward and up. This is how it seems to be put together in my 1929 Phaeton. I haven't tried to do this on the back seat. I hope this helps.

Hi Seth
Thank you for asking.
On the front backrest I found 3 screws. I haven't found the attachment on the rear backrest until now.

I hope I will be successful with my re-upholstering an send some pictures to this forum. Not befor January.
Eric
