My wife's Miata has a harness over the battery, makes changing it out a dream. No so easy with my Pickup - I have hip-arthritis that makes this job painful. Any idea where I could find a harness that will work on the A's?
Just put Stipes (shocks) on by myself -- it damn near put me to bed.

I am assuming you need a strap to fetch the battery thru the floor. I use this battery strap from Amazon.com . It clamps to the battery posts.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also have a "Floor Board Removal Plate" from Snyder's https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/f...-removal-plate that allows you to only have to remove half the floor.

Thanks --- the Miata Harness stays with the battery, tho, it can be taken off the Miata battery and put on another once out of the engine compartment. That removal panel is something new for me -Thanks.

I had one of those 50+ years ago and have forgotten all about them. Both the battery in my A and the one in my MGB are a PITA to lift out of the box. The strap you link to solves this. I ordered one immediately.

Chief had a Ford, battery lifter, that hooked on one post.

Using the post type lifter strap, while yes I do it too, most battery places will tell you it is a no-no. The cases are not what they use to be and is easy to pull the terminals out. With the floor boards out, you might be able to use the type that clamps from the sides of the case. Can't do that in my Model T, the hole is just big enough to get the battery thru in a non removable floor.

I tied baling twine around mine like doing up a package, all 4 sides. Then I just lift it out.

Some batteries come with the handle to lift them built into the case, Then there are the gel batteries that are not as big and aren't leaking acid while you tip them to get them out. Lighter too.

HF has one for about $5 that clamps to the battery sides, not the posts, and yeah the post model can tear the post loose. Get the one that clamps to the battery case, leave the posts alone.
