Question Binding Plugs

I've been working on my 1914 Touring T for about 2 years, saved it from a bad storage situation. I can't seem to get my spark plugs to seat all the way down in the cylinder head, I purchased car period correct plugs and retried the ones that came in the car Champion 25, they only go in so far with about 1/2" remaining out of the head. What am I missing? I'm thinking I need to pull the head and re-thread the holes but am not sure that'll fix it as the plugs screw in and out freely except for the last 1/2" on each cylinder. I had the car running briefly but noticed oil collecting around the plug base. Thanks!

Model T plugs do not seat all the way down. They are pipe thread. Just tighten them enough to stop the oil from coming out and do not torque them when the head is hot.

Wrap tin foil or Teflon tape around the threads, it will cut down on oil passage. A little oil blow by really doesn't hurt anything anyway. (the threads will cut thru the Teflon tape and ground the plugs, I use white but any color will do) This is an I do often with the Teflon tape thing.

The p1ugs are 1/2" tapered pipe thread, as mentioned. Don't over tighten them. A stout pull on a 1/2" ratchet will do it. Use pipe dope of never seize on the threads so you don't gall the threads.
