Re: Post a picture of your car...
Just picked this up this weekend and found this forum today. Its a '30, originally a pickup body but someone changed it to this boattail body. I'm planning on changing it back to a pickup roadster and I'm currently searching for an affordable model A bed in the New England area.

Re: Post a picture of your car...
Here are a few of my Model A's. The first photo is the '31 Pickup that I grew up driving and learning to work on which belonged to my Dad. The picture was taken on Eagle Summit about 107 miles north of Fairbanks, elevation 3652 ft. and about 70 miles of gravel. We were headed for Central which is another 56 miles north.
The second photo is my '31 AA All-Steel Top Budd Cab that I purchased from the Kirby Vacuum cleaner company. 1930 Standard Phaeton is the third one, just after I got all the electrical working. Darryl in Fairbanks |

Re: Post a picture of your car...
Model A Fan,
I am not certain what a AA would cost today, that one on craigslist is probably worth about what it would take to change it back to original. Ranger engine huh, at least its Ford. I paid $1,500 bucks for mine about 20 years ago, it was about 55 degrees below zero the day I brought mine home. It looks like your project A Pick-Up has a Budd cab also. Here is a photo of another '31 Pick-Up that I built from parts back in the 80's, which I still have. One of the old timers who helped me out always said "Just Wait". If you are in a hurry it always seems to cost more money. Darryl in Fairbanks |

Re: Post a picture of your car...
My Model A is a 1929 Pickup, painted Rock Moss Green with a French Gray stripe.
New to me when I was 13 (1960) I drove it to high school and for a while after that, then took it completely apart and started restoring it. For many years it sat untouched due to lack of money and time, but especially money. In 2000 I retired and we moved to Baja California Sur, Mexico. I took it with me as I wanted a project to work on, and I wanted to restore this vehicle that had been such a big part of my life since 13 years old. With the help of a wonderful body and fender man in a nearby town I was able to finish the restoration in 2007. One of the big celebrations in Mexico is November 20th, Revolution Day, and our small town always has a big parade. I have taken my Model A to the parade each year since it was restored, and I almost always have Revolution Day princesses or the Queen riding in my vehicle since it is the nicest vehicle in the parade. This year was no exception as I had the queen and 2 princesses in my pickup!! Eat your heart out guys! (Yes, there is one with me in the front seat!) This picture taken just yesterday, November 20, 2011 I am currently working on restoring another Model A. This one is a 1928 Model A chassis with a Martin – Parry Station Wagon body, but that is another story for another time. A guy does need a project! |
