Default Heater Hot Water Control Valve V-8 1941 -Call me Crazy

ok I'm ticked off at Mac's -They Claim to sell a replacement Hot water control valve as a direct replacement....... I contacted them with little ...... but I think the pic is worth a thousand words.

I took one of their (Macs) valves and modified it to replace the original.

If I'm wrong please someone straighten me out but in my opinion the valve I had on the car was original and the valve Macs sells cannot be installed correctly.

I guess this just gives me something to &&&&& about LOL

Hi; Same with the NAPA valve. I use the new stem in the old valve bodies. Newc

I would have done that and looked at it closely but the body area where the stem screws in was slightly crushed would have taken way to much effort to salavage the original between the crushed threaded area and rust the body was to far gone

I had the same type of thing from Mac's. I bought what I thought was a reproduction but was not. Bought the piece from Carpenter which was correct

You are not incorrect. No one sells the correct valve as a reproduction.
