Back to finishing this generator. When you install the front bearing retainer plate, it's best to buy the rivet/nuts from one of the Model A parts houses. I have riveted a few plates, but the rivet/nuts makes the job easier and more servicable the next time it needs to be worked on.

It's a very close fit between the inner lock ring and center hole in the bearing retainer plate. The first time I installed the plate there was a very slight scraping from the lock ring touching the plate. I loosened the 4 nuts and pushed the plate up, then tightened the bottom two nuts first, then the top nuts. You can see the nuts just touch the edge of the raised part on the plate, and I didn't want the top nuts to push the plate down, so I tightened the bottom nuts first. That took care of the problem.

Notice that the top of the plate has a notch to clear the rivet for the front bearing oiler cover.
