Default 2 Tooth Steering Box oil seal.

Can the oil seal be replaced without breaking down the whole box?

I've got some 600wt dripping into the light switch.

If you have a leak into the light switch, you are missing the tube that is fastened to the end plate. Held on the bottom of the steering box with two screws.

Yes it can. After removing the light switch and spyder, There is two 7/16 bolts at the bottom of the steering box. The two bolts connect the light switch bracket. Remove the tywo bolts and bracket and you can install the oil seal. Look on the right upper corner of page 24 in the new Brattons catalog and you will see the part that I am talking about . Unless this part has been improved, it is best to solder the connection of the tube to the end plate or it is liable to still leak. A little bead of rosin core solder is just good insurance. Install the tube seal and gasket and you should be good to go. Other than removing the light switch and spyder, there is only two bolts to remove.
