Upload it to "YouTube" and post a link on your thread.

Can you post it to one of your Ford Barn albums? That way, it will have a URL! DD

Tried to add to album & only offered upload picture, tried using that selection but no go. Failed indicating missing security token. Tried to load still & no prob, it loaded. Thinking it’s a file size issue.

Hi Everyone. AnthonyG I'd urge you to check that again. It's a free service that has paid upgrades. I think one is called YouTubeTV? I certainly don't pay for either of the two accounts I have.

If you have a gmail or other Google sign-in you've already got full YouTube access including posting/hosting videos.

Otherwise there has to be a way to find where make an account without paying.

The other answers are correct, the FordBarn forum software does not allow uploading or hosting of video files. They do allow a link in your message to a file hosted somewhere else and YouTube is pretty convenient after a little figuring out.

I have a few videos on "YouTube" and have never paid a cent.

Here's an example https://youtu.be/TaxpuDkWAqc.

Yes, youtube has no charge to upload videos in the ten years or so I've been on it. FB will take short videos too as I am pretty sure I have done it. Maybe just short clips though.

I really lucked out on that engine. It's a good story. About 25 years ago, a friend of mine told me about some of his buddies that were "fixin' up an old Merc" and the engine was for sale. When I got there, these three yahoos were standing on the edge of a farm field, a very nice '51 Merc 4 door was laying on it's side, and the engine was upside down in a mud puddle. The engine looked real clean and the guys said it ran good before they dumped it out. I bought it for a couple of hundred dollars, figuring the crankshaft was worth that. I took it home and stashed it under the stairs of my shop.

Fast forward about 20 years, and the original engine in my '51 was starting to make some funny noises. I figured it was time for a rebuild, so I pulled the Merc out and mounted it on my engine test stand to evaluate it. It turned over fine, so I put a battery on it and did a compression test. All eight cylinders were between 110 an 115 PSI. When I checked the oil pressure gauge, I saw it was holding good pressure. I decided to take a chance and tried to start it. It fired right up and ran beautifully, like in the video. I later cleaned it up, checked it visually for cracks (I couldn't even find a "part number" crack), added a set of Edmunds heads, a 2G carburetor, and a Mallory dual point. I put it into the '51 in 2015. I have been running it several thousand miles each summer and it hasn't missed a beat since.

I feel kind of guilty about this, knowing how many guys have purchased engines and have ended up disappointed, but even a blind robin finds a worm once in a while. The three goofballs standing in the field? Their plan was to put the Merc body on a mid-80's Lincoln Chassis they had. It never came to fruition and I heard they scrapped the whole shebang.

Sad story on the Merc. All too often, those big plans turn into the death of the innocent old car

When will fordbarn allow its user to post videos? What’s the issue?

Probably a storage issue, video can take a lot of space. You can also load up your video to Dropbox and several other free online storage services, but you will have to manage that space, they typically don’t give too much.
