Re: What has gone wrong on the road?
I have yet to break down to the point of not getting home, all minor issues that I resolved on the road, and always she got me home, my Model A has proven to be more reliable then any modern car that I have owned.
The secret is to make sure she is mechanically sound before heading out. (your experience may vary)

Re: What has gone wrong on the road?
Not many actual failures that could not be readily fixed or could keep me from limping home. I’ve had head gasket failures, sheared axle keys, point problems and a starter bolt loose in the bell housing. All these were from back in the 60’s. During my shakedown of the 2010 era rebuild, I had a wheel fall off and a blown head gasket. Since then, I had a muffler ‘explosion’ (fuel richness) as my major issue on a road trip. No flat tires, no running out of gas.
