Default I was rummaging through the old barn and...

I found my old college luggage I used when I went to Yale back in 1932. Cleaned them up a bit and thought they'd look good again on a Model A luggage rack better than a repop trunk. I'm trying to find my old golf clubs that I used when Booby Jones, Walter Hagen and I use to walk the courses together down in Georgia so I can throw them inside the rumble. Still looking for that Ziegfeld gal though!!!!

Thanks...anyone that has seen the movie, The Legend of Bagger Vance", it was set in 1930/31, when Capt Rannulph Junuh returns from WWI, when he finally comes back home years later to Savannah, when he steps off the bus, he is carrying a bamboo rattan suitcase exactly like the one in the photo.

Yip, it is, one from around the late 20s, early 30s. A few places worn through the leather on the corners but still is great shape. Got both that bag and the suitcase quite reasonable too. Quite pleased with how both came together. Got my eye on a set of late 20s golf clubs now. They would look nice sticking up out of the rumble.

what if a rat has the time machine hehe kidding, but yes i agree it looks better to me than a trunk - not quite as weatherproof or thief proof but definitely adds character to the car!

stop the music....if you entered college at age 18, that makes you 101....unless you were a child prodigy and got in early.

Thanks..... as for security, yes and no..............I do have the suitcase bolted down. I have a 1X2s inside the width of the case as backup supports for the nuts and large washers for the bolts coming through the rack. It won't budge unless ripped/yanked off. The bag is strapped through the same strap guide as the case straps are, then it's ran around the back rack support bar. It won't budge but it is flexible, it won't move more than an half an inch in all four directions. Inside the bag is Sarah's rain cover and a cover for the baggage. Both can be removed if the occasion calls for it.

Oh cool! i was thinking of a similar idea for my AA but some fake "cargo crates" to store stuff in. Free pallets are great to cutup and make a crude roughcut shipping container
