Default 1951 Ford 2 dr. with 69 actual miles

Yes 69, Not 69,000, Not even 6,900....just 69 miles on it.

A friend of mine has a few pretty nice old Fords, and one of them is a 1951 two door sedan with 69 actual miles. He has had it for many years, and allways had it covered up inside, like all his cars are kept, but the '51 did sit outside for a short period of time, before he got it, so there is a couple Small issues with the paint that I seen when I looked at it the other day.

My camera wouldn't work cause I dropped it before I could snap any pics.

He is having an auction later this year, in Sept, but thought some of you would like hearing of this car. I do have the auction sale bill that has Small
pictures of his cars listed that I can try to scan and post a picture of, but
as I said, the pics on the sale bill are very Small.

I will see if i can do that tomorrow.

Maybe someone can enlarge this picture, as this is the best I could come up with.

Also, this is NOT any form of a for sale ad, as the car won't be sold before the auction, and I'm sure there will be plenty of buyers at the auction, but I just thought some of you might get a kick out of this low mile '51 Ford 2 dr. with 69 miles.

With out a doubt, your post ought to get lots of buyers to the auction. A bit sneaky but in marketing anything goes.

I don't need to drum up people for the auction as the auction company is nationaly known
and they will get that job done.

I had a couple of those, when you hit 100,000 miles it starts over!

If you know anything about GOOD old cars you can easly tell the differance between 69 and 100,069 miles. Even if it sat outside inside the trunk, inside the door panels other area show like almost new. Even the condition of the floor and running gear will show signs if it was driven a 100,000 or even 10,000 miles. Lonney I didn't get the impression you were trying to help sell it. REAL cars like this are vary rare and at auction it will only take 2 interested bidders or a good auctioneer, one bidder and a tree to get the highest price. I think it was more of a service letting us know one exists. G.M.

You had better get out your Atlas and look up the road to Minnesota. I think that there is something here that you might like !

I talked to Rollie today, and asked him the story behind the miles on the '51, and was going to come here and tell it to you, but I see that Ed Pitts posted a video, and it tells the condensed version of why the miles are so low.
The long version Rollie told me was pretty interesting, but I'm to slow a typer to write all that.

And Thanks for your comments GM, I appreciate them.

Ya Marv, the lady doing the video says 69 even as she's looking right at the 64.1 on the odometer.
She must have had a lot on her mind that day and not thinking clearly.

I've been to Rollies many, many times over the years, and my eyeballs
get mesmerized everytime I see his collection of cars and parts, so I can
see why she might have made a slip-up.

Went to one of her auctions that she had in Villisca, Ia. First off, she wastes no time! She started promptly at 10am there was one block of parts laid out in 4.5 rows. Between her and the ring man, they would sell CHOISE item of what was between them, then choice again on grouping, then open it up to anyone per item of what was there, then she would sell the remaining by the lot (one money takes all). Then she would move on to the next grouping that is the way it went lot after lot.
Secondly, be on your toes, she wastes NO time!!! If you are not standing right there, and speak up her one twice sold is rather fast.
I hope that I have not scared off anyone; just that I drove 300 miles and was very disappointed at how the sale bill was conveyed and what was actual there. Guess the old saying BUYER BEWARE.

Ya, I don't think you should waste your time driving 300 miles for any of the junk shown in the video. You should be able to find stuff like that a whole lot closer to you then that. (50 miles tops)
I'm less than 50 miles, so I might just go.
