Default Rear Backing Plate Bolts

(I'm posting this photo for Pluck.)

The Rear Brake Housing Plate NUT...A-21791

"I know the nut on the left side of this photo was used in attaching the LONG and SHORT bolts in attaching the Rear Brake Housing Plate to the Rear Axle.

But what about the one on the right side? Was one like this ever used?

"The photo in this post is of the LONG bolts to attach the Rear Brake Housing Plate to the Rear Axle.

The one on the left is the early long bolt...the one on the right is the later long bolt for use on the Model A.

The one in the center I do not know about.

Compare the shank and thread differences to the one on the right and the one in the middle.

My question is...is the one in the middle genuine Model A Ford?

Thanks.

Pluck"

Steve,..hello Dan,
We know you have MORE books than FMC on A's....lol
Okay,..so I looked it up in the hardware book. It is possible on the nut,..we need the
height. Also, the bolts need the length too confirm.

The bolts are the LONG bolts used in production. The bolt on the left is the EARLY LONG bolt used with the grease baffle with the reinforcement studs. This bolt is 2-7/64 inches long and apparently uses the castel nut on the right of the photo.

The bolt on the right is the LATER LONG bolt used with the grease baffle without the reinforcement studs. This bolt is 1-7/8 inches in length and apparently uses the castel nut on the left of the photo.

BOTH BOLTS ARE CONSIDERED TO BE THE LONG BOLTS BUT USED IN DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS.

The bolt I am wondering about is the CENTER bolt.

Is it true Model A? I have never seen one like this as I have quite a few of the left and right LONG bolts but not this one.

These are NOT the short bolts in this assembly.
