Default '53 car No Charge after sitting a few months

Yeh;' Old Reliable' let me down with a no charge indication. Rebuilt generator, but old regulator with rivited cover. Suspected stuck regulator points- banged on the cover with a hunk of wood and surprise it started to charge! So now in tool kit, a hammer. Newc

Newc, I'd suspect oxidized connections preventing the charge, attitude adjusted with the hammer. Clean, grease, and tighten those harness connection points!

I would suggest a quick polarizing action. I once had a welding generator with the same issue. I did not use it very often and after a few months there was insufficient magnetism.
