Default VE-1927/28 Ames Horn

Need some pictures or information on how the data plate that was mounted on the Horn bell was painted.. Was the AMES name in red or was the whole thing black ?? Pictures of an Original in good condition would be great.. Send to; [email protected] Thanks, Fred..

If you do find a good close picture, you can send the picture to this gentleman, he can reproduce it for you PERFECTLY! I had one made for my early two cylinder. He can make them out of brass, aluminum, zinc, and he can acid etch (raised lettering, lowered background) and can paint the background, or make it look aged. He can also screen print it

I have one of the early Ames horn with the name tag on the front bell. My computer or camera , for some reason, quit downloading pictures so I'm unable to post a pic for you. But I did find a picture of a non Model A Ames horn with the same name tag but different model #. - http://www.mtfca.com/mmedia/hornamesnp.jpg - this horn is model vH but the Model A horn tag on my horn is marked MF. It's all zinc and black . It's 3/4" wide x 1 7/8" long. It's mounted on the horn bell top ,at the motor end, snug up against the seam between the bell flange and neck.
