Re: History today
Here is some info for you Pluck.
http://www.seriouswheels.com/art-Ford-Europe.htm I got the year wrong, it was 1931 The basis of the strategy was the centralization of Fords European activities in England and the formation of a new company, Ford Motor Company Limited to serve this purpose. At the heart of the 1928 Plan was a new factory - the Detroit of Europe - to be built on reclaimed marshland at Dagenham in the UK, as the hub of Fords European activities. Built at the then immense cost of 5 million, the new Dagenham plant built its first vehicle, a Model AA truck, on 1 October 1931. |

Re: History today
Ford stated production in Geelong, Victoria, Australia on 31 March, 1925 and ceased in October 2016. Now they import crap like Mustang. The Australian car had a safety rating of 5 stars (the maximum) while the Mustang was lucky to get 2. They are so crappy that it us not possible to fit a tow bar or even a bicycle rack. Motoring commentators and writers tell people "Don't buy it!" Even Korean cars are wayyy better.
Not getting political, just stating facts.
