New To The Model A Forum
Hello 'Barners,
I am new to this side of the Fordbarn. I have been a member of the V8 Forum for many years...way back to when Shelly owned it! Shelly is in our local regional V8 Club group...great folks Mac & Shelly! Anyway, I took delivery of a 1930 Ford Model A Town Sedan (Briggs) this past Friday. It belonged to a dear friend who passed about 5 years ago. He had owned the car since 1963. I have a lot to learn about Model A's. I have owned and still own a few 1932 Fords as well as several other V8s along the way. The color in the picture shows a little darker than it actually is. I believe it to be Copra Drab? It is a brown color. It has not been driven in the 5 years since his passing, so it needs some TLC. I am very honored to be the next "caretaker" of it! I haven't received any of the previous owner's books etc., I won't be purchasing anything until I find out what he had. I will be posting a lot of questions in the very near future...I'm certain. Regards, Pat |

Re: New To The Model A Forum
Pat/Ohio,
Welcome to the forum. I also have a '30 Briggs town sedan. Had it for a long time. My avatar shows my car and it's Chicle Drab and Copra Drab. I'm in Lorain County along the lake. There are a lot of good answers on this site, so ask away. Marty |

Re: New To The Model A Forum
Welcome to this side of the hill. Great car to cruise around in due to to the weight of the wood. Which probably needs to be checked to make sure it is is still solid. I am guessing that since he had it since 63 it is still good for the most part if he did a total resto on it. I think you already know the rest of the tips we would normally tell a new Ford owner.
Mike

Probably a bit slower than your 32 but still as much fun. Very nice car. Thanks for sharing,

Re: New To The Model A Forum
Welcome and lovely car you have there. One of the colors listed for 1930 Town Sedans is maroon. Is this a possibility for what color your car is? I looked it up in the 3rd edition of the Model A Ford Paint and Finish Guide. The maroon paint chip looks pretty much like what you have to me. mike

I am in the process of redoing some of the electrical right now. Would like to repaint the garnish moldings also. They are black right now. They should be woodgrained probably, but perhaps something like a single stage mahogany color would work right now. Thanks all for the compliments. Pat |
