Default 64 1/2 Mustang catpet

The 64 1/2 and early 65 Mustangs had carpet that only went to the bottom of the inner rocker panel. Later ones had the carpet extend up the inner rocker and under the aluminum sill plate. The early ones had a piece of vynil glued to the inner rocker pane. I have an early 65 with the 64 1/2 carpet from the factory. Haven't found a source yet. Everyone has the later carpet. Only option I can think of is to have and upholstrey shop trim a set and bind the edge. Anyone aware of a source for the early carpet?

Slumlord44: I have searched diligently, to no available. My early 65 had the same issue and the solution was as you stated: upholstery shop. However, shop around to find one with older, experienced craftsmen: many of the younger ones want to take shortcuts.
Alternatively, give Auto Custom Carpet in Alabama a call: they may have a lead or other options for you. 800-352-8216. Website: accmats.com.

Just to help establish a time frame for this change I had a new Mustang on order, it was built in September and I took possession of it from my Ford dealer on Sept 30,1964. The carpet is under the sill plates. Yes, I still own it!
