Default 36 cabriolet window riser gear

Does anyone know what size gear is used for the window crank on a 36 cabriolet window riser? Is it a 6 tooth, 10 tooth, and is it a special part? It is not listed in any catalog.

I do not know what gears it takes, I ordered window regulator gears for a 1939 pickup, Midwest Early Ford sent me a B-48106-RK regulator gear supposedly fits 1932-1936 6 tooth, that did not fit properly and they told me that was the only one available, I than ordered from Mac's a WRK-48105-C regulator gear kit that there catalog says fits 35-39 and 35-47 pickup that was further off that the one I got from Midwest Early Ford. I did order a window regulator repair kit off of e-bay NOS made by Champ-Items Inc of Saint Louis and it looks like that one would work but my Tin retainer that secures the Gear is worn badly and that doesn’t not come with the gear. I talked to Little Dearborn in Saint Paul and they said they quit selling the gears made by Vintique because they would bind and they would have to refund the customer. I ended up ordering new regulators from Bob Drake and they look to be a perfect copy of the originals (I have not installed yet). When I have time I was going to draw up the replacement gears on Auto Cad and publish the drawings on the Ford Barn (probably be a winter project).

Regards,

Brian

I can tell you from first hand experiences... The window operators, tracts, guides etc. are completely different from the closed cars/trucks..
The heavy metal frames around the windows on the convertibles, and the fact that they do not have the upper closed door frame to support the window, is what most likely makes a difference..
I just learned recently that Drake has parts for the early convertible window assembly's..

suggest getting a good welder to weld on a new tooth and then file it to size

James- I don't know what happened to the elaborate story I just wrote but -Once again- I found that Snyders at(330) 549-5313 -has a Model A 12 tooth gear..I put it in my 36 Cabriolet Regulator At first it was a bit tight but it worked in. That worked fine outside the car but I still have problems. See what they have for Model A, Measure your needs, Call them they are very cooperative.
Which side of the car are you having problems with? I may go Electric.
