Have a look at Mac van pelts web site, he has diagrams of all the window regulators http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/f...dw-reg_pg1.htm

Derek, Sorry mate, I'm having trouble understanding exactly what you are seeking; are you after window regulators for a 5 window coupe? If so, they will be the same as fordor front doors.. Now, just to complicate matters, there are two styles, one style places the handle in the forward position, the other style has the handle further back. The inner door panel will have provision for both types, ie there are two sets of holes for the handle, also eight slotted holes to hold the mechanism. Only six of those slotted holes are used with the rear mounted handle assembly.
So...what exactly do you want?

Incidently...there are also two positions for the interior door handles; a forward position and a central position. Again, the inner door panel will have provision for the fitting of both types.

If no-one else is forthcoming with what you want, if you ask me nicely, I might be able to send you some photos of both styles, [that is, I can take the pix, but will have to get my wife or a kid to send them to your email, I cannot fathom putting photos on here, nor do I desire to learn!]- so this procedure would take a few days.

Derek, Sorry, dunno about three windows, except the channels are different [longer] than 5w / fordor
Possibly the winder mechanism is the same as the 'longer' of the two types I described for 5 windows? It is held in place with eight screws. Can you send me picture of the inner door panel?, should give an indication as to whether the winder I describe will fit.
Also, see here;https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showth...indow+channels

As mentioned above there are two style of regulators, early 6 bolt and later 8 bolt. The window winder position was changed when the door handle was relocated. Here are a couple of pictures of the two door versions, so your friend can determine which style he has. I also thought I had some pictures of the two different regulators; but can't find any now.

edit; Was looking thru some pictures and found another variation on one of them I hadn't noticed before; '35 door with the rear latch handle position; but with the 6 bolt regulator and rear position of the winder. Also no provision for the 8 bolt regulator.

The Body parts book for 35 list the 3-W door regulator as 48-702700 RH & 701 as the LH. I believe Ford did not update the Hardware book with all the correct regulators and body styles for several of the 35 bodies such as the 3-W and the Cabriolet. Both of the regulators above use 6 screw mounting. Check with your friend to see how many mounting holes he has in his doors. The above regulators also fit the 35 and 36 models 700, 730, 770 (5-W) & 780 doors.
If you friend has 8 mounting screws look at 68-702700 & 701 These regulators fit the same models listed above.

FYI, here are some pictures of window regulators that I have in my collection. Most of these are for '35-'36, fordor and tudor sedans, but the ones with 8 mounting screw provisions could also have been used in 3w coupes. I am not sure, but maybe someone else viewing this post could better describe their exact usage.

All 1935 closed cars had the 6 screw front door regulators. During mid 1936 the design was changed to the 8 screw regulator. Other than that the door design was the same. Of course over the years doors got changes around so that is why the confusion. There is small stop bolt that can be moved hole to hole in the regulator to position the glass in the correct down position for the different 4dr, 2dr, 3-w models.

The 6 screw mounting pattern was used in 1935 and early 1936. The 8 screw bolting pattern was user for the balance of 1936.

The 5 window Coupe regulator was also used for the Tudor, Fordor, and Sedan Delivery in 1935 and again in 1936.

I did have some of each type and each year. All I have left is 1936 right front door window regulators, 8 screw mount pattern. I have no 6 screw pattern regulators for 3 window Coupe.

I found it was quite easy to shorten an eight bolt regulator to convert it into a six bolt regulator.

Did you ever repair the crank mechanism in a 36 Cabriolet Drivers regulator.
Any instructions for use of the repair Kit?
