Default Starter brushes

Any suggestions for holding back starter brushes so end cap will go back on starter.

Used to tie it back with a piece of string. Cut the string when done.

Pull the springs back and cock them to the side so they are not pushing on the brushes. Then install the end cap followed by repositioning the springs.

I have a hook tool to pull the spring back and then just pull the brushes out. They can be finicky going back in but it's never been a problem for me.
